Historical Background

Aslan is a talking lion - the King of the Beasts - in C. S. Lewis' popular children's book series, "The Chronicles of Narnia." Animals of Narnia, upon gazing at Aslan and feeling his breath, are given the ability to think and talk. The Turkish word "aslan" translates to "lion" in English.
