Based upon the description and the picture, it is likely that this item is based on the real life Bûche de Noël. This is a cake baked, frosted, and decorated to resemble the traditional Yule Log. It is made of sponge cake and decorated in chocolate frosting, sprinkled with powdered sugar to resemble snow and garnished with fresh berries, small branches, and tiny mushrooms made from meringue.
