Only found in two dungeons of
Vana'diel, these undead mobs resemble the larger class denoted as
Fomor. Indeed, it is unclear to this day whether these two types are related, or whether as undead they both simply have certain traits in common. Either way, the Shadows of
Fei'Yin and
Eldieme Necropolis are a sight to behold. These faceless suits of armor seem empty and lifeless – and have even been known to fool the unaccustomed adventurer into thinking that they are mannequins, until one gets too close.
Typically concentrating on the jobs of Warrior, Ranger, Thief, and Black Mage, these suits of armor act as one would expect of those in these classes. Just when they lull the attacker into a false sense of security by appearing to be nothing more than a typical job class to which adventurers are accustomed, each will employ what can be a devastating physical attack that seems to stem directly from the blackness of the shadow's soul.
