everyone need it?
does everyone in the party need an orb? Calined 16:23, 18 September 2006 (EDT)
- No - only one person per party/alliance. --Gahoo 16:27, 18 September 2006 (EDT)
Heroes Combat
Information is woefully lacking on Heroes Combat, the special BCNM against the 3 NPCs who assist the players in the final mission battles of the 3 cities. From what I've gathered by search engine:
- takes place in Stellar Fulcrum
- Trion, Volker, and Ajido-Marujido are the opponents.
- 3 versions: vs. 1 random NPC, vs. 2 random NPCs, or vs. all 3 NPCs. The names of the BCNMs are The Solitary Demolisher, The Dauntless Duo, and The Indomitable Triumvirate (though I've seen some places list it as The Indomitable Trio)
- 6 player limit, unknown time limit
- I think it uses the Cordial Invite to access and some type of Orb (one is temporary, one is a reusable access item).
It should be added to the BCNM page, and those 3 NPCs should get monster formats for their pages, listing them as NMs in this event (actually, it would be good to divide their pages into 3: one for the NPC, one for the NPC who assists in battle, and one for the NM in the BCNM). And by the way, heads up, there is a Rose Quartet which is debuting at the TGS on 9/22- 9/24, where Curilla, Ayame, Shantotto, and Prishe are fought in the Stellar Fulcrum, so that may eventually be coming to Vana'diel (just as Heroes Combat debuted in events before becoming a part of the regular game). I'll dig up the history of Heroes Combat, like what events it debuted at before being added to the game and add that (when I get around to adding the history of each BCNM). --zoogelio-forgot-his-password 10:49, 18 September 2006 (EDT)
I have never heard of these. These are in the game now? Available at rank 10? --Gahoo 10:55, 18 September 2006 (EDT)
I thought that either with ToAU or by May or June 2006, Heroes Combat was supposed to be added to Stellar Fulcrum. I haven't heard of anyone doing it though. The Rose Quartet is an event only BCNM which is debuting at the Tokyo Game Show. Try and ask around and see if anyone has a cordial invite or that orb (heroes orb?). I haven't seen info since around ToAU release on it. They were supposed to add it in one of those phases, like how they gave out Moogle Rods or Chocobo Wands or whatnot in phases after ToAU release (well, sent it to people's Moghouse Mailboxes).
Here, this can be a starting point, found it by google- http://www.theorderls.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=206380&sid=b40e6926d9c62381d30ab0e1b753f5a3

Yeah, so that other item was called a Hero's Orb. --zoogelio-forgot-his-password 11:22, 18 September 2006 (EDT)
Well based on these links this can be added as a stand-alone article, but I do not think it should be added to the BCNM chart. My understanding is that those who attended the live event received the access object via mog hosue. So this is basically a one-time event. I guess I view this more as a special event than a BCNM. --Gahoo 12:14, 18 September 2006 (EDT)
Maybe it should be included on the bottom of the BCNM chart, not associated with the big colored box of BCNMs, under the heading Special BCNMs since it is a BCNM not associated with a mission/quest, nor is it an ISNM, ENM. It should also be added to the list of battles fought at Stellar Fulcrum.--zoogelio-forgot-his-password 12:26, 18 September 2006 (EDT)
Idea
I was thinking, could it be possible for people to do a % of drop on BCNMs? For example, putting their drop 1/1 by each item, and then the next person to come along that didn't get that drop would put 0/1, and then another person would put 1/1, so the percentage would be 66%, and you could do this with each item. So lets say 10 people record their information on Operation Desert swarm(which people can keep adding as long as they go through the whole thing and add all of their 1/1 or 0/1's), then you can have a somewhat accurate % of drop rate for every bcnm.^^; Cwg999 13:20, 10 March 2007 (EST)
Sounds like a project that can be done on BCNM/ENM/ISNM talk pages. Also, when you start a new topic or whatever on a talk page, please put it on the bottom (or just press the "+" feature on talk pages). --Joped 13:27, 10 March 2007 (EST)
I guess I can start a new trend then >_>; Cwg999 13:56, 10 March 2007 (EST)
Orbs...
Once you obtain one, and go to a BCNM, use it to enter the BCNM, do you lose the orb? or do you keep the orb? -Nally 15:59, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
About keeping the orb, a friend who wanted to let me join in on the Rose Quartet Battle said that he lost the first orb for Heroes Combat after winning the fight, so no, you do not get to keep the orbs. Angeluzun 08:41, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
