Category talk:Campaign Operations/Archive
From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia
Category:Campaign should be listed under Category:Missions, as they are missions, not quests. They are found under the 'Missions' button in the FFXI game menu, which would prompt people seeking info to come here and search under Missions, finding nothing. --Dorren 03:06, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Assaults are under Missions in the game and displayed here under quests also...--Lito 04:05, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
A thought for future Special Ops- Would it better to have them listed by Type instead of by Name? That way if there are additional missions for that type it's a little better organized. Just a thought. --Drya 00:34, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Maybe I'm just having a slow morning and I'm picking on something minor., but would it be possible to use something other than (S), (B), (W) for showing which nation the special ops is for. I know it's minor, but I think as more content is released the (S) is going to create confusion with the (S) for past zones. --Arabbear 13:49, 29 November 2007 (UTC) Maybe expanding the city name to (Bastok), (San d'Oria) and (Windurst) in the article titles? Though that makes them quite a mess to type. Dewin 21:06, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I can see that ppl already have "unlocked" the security and intel, offensive and so on Operations. The thing is... I already got 1 rank up and I still don't see the missions there. Does anyone know why?Somnia 19:57, 29 November 2007 (UTC) Somnia
- I think you can only access certain missions at certain times. That may be why you can't access them. --Drya 05:48, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Alright, it looks like we have Campaign Ops and Special Ops (that I can't seem to link to- Missions: Campaign: Special Ops). Would it be possible to compile these two into one article? Thanks! --Drya 05:57, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
I just got the 4th ribbon, and unlocked all the tier II missions mentioned on the page. Except for Brave Dawn II that is. Bastok has 5 of 6 areas (only missing Rolanberry Fields), so it might be related to owning the near-Jeuno area. --Seedling 19:19, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Layout
Since Campaign Ops are mostly the same per nation, maybe a format like User:Dewin/Campaign Ops Reorg might make more sense than having a separate section for each nation. It also helps people decide what op to do because they can get the gist of an op by looking at another nation's version if their own hasn't been written yet. Comments? Dewin 17:29, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- I haven't done these yet but your reorg looks good to me and seems to make sense. --GAHOO t/ c 18:59, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Requirements
Please post if anyone gets a different ribbon besides the Bronze and gets new Missions, or if they lost a ribbon and can't access some.
I have saved up 6 Op Credits (thou I think I should have had 7 by now) to see if I get new options... I saw new missions a few days after completing the first 3, they all required 1 Op Credit. --Lito 04:35, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- If I recall I had acces to Streetsweeper I before I had the Brass Ribbon.--Lito 09:51, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
"Campaign Ops" vs. "Special Ops"
What is the official in-game term? --GAHOO t/ c 14:09, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
In game, they are "Allied Campaign operations." Kylehume 11:33, 8 December 2007
Shouldn't this page be called "Category:Campaign Ops" then? Why "Special Ops"? No where in the game does it say "Special Operations" at all. --Jessie 20:02, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Requested Move
Move/Comment: Based on the main page and the quote from the game, seems like this category should be called "Campaign Operations." After a move I'd think redirects would be appropriate for "Campaign Ops" and "Special Ops." --GAHOO t/ c 14:12, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Move: Sounds good too me. I've been thinking the current name is far too cumbersome anyway. --TECHNO-- Talk / Contrib 20:40, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Move: I agree with it too. It's way too long of a name, and everyone knows it's "Campaign Operations", not "Campaign Special Operations". This website isn't so formal that everything has to be specific. Why was "Campaign Ops" a huge problem in the first place? --Jessie 23:45, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Move: It only makes sense if they are called Campaign Ops by SE themselves in their information releases, as well as in-game. Sfxsigma 06:41, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Comment: I suggest Campaign: Special Operations. Ayrlie 06:45, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- But nowhere in game nor from SE have they ever been referred to as 'Special' operations. Campaign Ops is the term used in autotranslate. More about this @ Talk:Campaign Ops --Dewin 08:02, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Move: To clairfy - I am voting for "Category: Campaign Operations". As for Ayrlie's suggestion and the current name, I would like to avoid the double ":". --GAHOO t/ c 14:23, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Resolution: I am actually going to resolve this before we get too many more subpages added with the old category. "Category: Campaign Operations" it is. --GAHOO t/ c 14:25, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
