From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

I learnt some Al Zahbi recipes today as a reward for completing a quest. Recipes I have are:

Yoghurt (they actually spelt "yogurt") Dark Crystal: 1x Dogwood log, 1x Selbina Milk

Yayla Corbasi - Fire Crystal: 1x Selbina Butter, 1x Rock Salt, 1x Sprig of Apple Mint, 1x Imperial Rice, 1x Imperial Flour, 1x Apkallu Egg, 1x Bowl of Yoghurt (yogurt).

No clue what level these are as I don't do cooking.--Perim 18:59, 30 April 2006 (PDT)

As a LV100 cook, I'd really love to learn the levels of these recipes so I know what chance I have at a good tier without cranking out a ton, but I can't even begin to try to pin them down. I'm waiting anxiously for some results (and wondering how they ever pinned down any before this update for older recipes, honestly). --Chacharu 05:20, 17 June 2006 (PDT)

I know that as a level 100 cook, you'll have no problem HQing Sulac, alot, I had 90 when I tried, and it HQed on half my synths. --Chrisjander 05:40, 17 June 2006 (PDT)

New Recipe Levels Discovery

One suggestion to discover the level of new recipe's, would be to talk to the guild rep. who list's recipe's. The recipe's will be listed between some existing recipes w/ known caps. The cap for the new recipe would between known cap 'A' & known cap 'B'. -- Just a thought.--Maxeon 08:43, 3 August 2006 (EDT)

There are a ridiculous amount of recipes that aren't even shown in the guild list from NPC (level 100 cook)--Littledarc 00:20, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Items available at novice rank...

Hey I just got my Novice rank for cooking and started earning guild points but...when I selected that I want to spend my points...I did not see the Culinarian's Belt. All that was available were the Key Items and the signing crystals and that's it. It says on this article that Culinarian's Belt is available at Novice rank. Is the article wrong or is it that there's something else I have to do in order for the belt to be available? --Baraddur 06:13, 16 October 2006 (EDT)

It's probably wrong, I've noticed the same thing with Goldsmithing. I'll see if I've given access to the belt at my next Goldsmithing rank. --Chrisjander 08:49, 16 October 2006 (EDT)

Two things have been bugging me about the Cooking page. For one, trying to access the page to the "Fish & Chips" item redirects you to the "Fish" page. I don't know too much about HTML or webpages, but if the ampersand (&) is causing a problem, then is there maybe a "Fish and Chips" page that can be linked to instead?

The other thing that's been bothering me is that the introduction of fish from Aht Urghan region means there are alternate recipes to many seafood recipes now. The ingame descriptions for some of these dishes have been changed to indicate the introduction of these alternate recipes, so new pictures may be needed for this site. For certain, I know that Eel Kabobs can use either Black Eel or Yilanbaligi. And Sole Sushi should be makeable with either Black Sole or Dil. At the least, how should these alternate recipes be handled? Shouldn't the Cooking page itself show these alternate recipes, or should they only be listed on the pages of the original recipes, as is currently being done with Sole Sushi? I think that there should either be new entries, or notes on the existing entries. Like maybe Eel Kabobs could say "Black Eel or Yilanbaligi".

[Previous comment was made by me. I'm not quite used to posting in wiki pages yet.] Lunarcurtain 22:55, 31 December 2006 (EST)

Feel free to add entries for the alternate recipes. And you're probably right about the Fish & Chips thing regarding the ampersand, but we're having trouble with a couple of wiki functions at the moment, so we'll have to wait for those to be resolved before tackling that problem. --Chrisjander 01:56, 1 January 2007 (EST)

Smaller page size?

Is there any way for the page to be consolidated a bit? I've been sitting here waiting for a good 5 minutes for the page to load completely (I can't even scroll down to browse, my browser locks up completely), there is just too much going on on the page. --Snojoex 20:38, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

perhaps recipes (the bulk of the page) could be moved to a subpage like http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Category:Cooking/Recipes
it seems a bit much to list everything about the subject and then also try and cram every existing recipe onto the same page. --1.quos.vita.habitum.captivus 12:44, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
