Cutscene NPCs that appear in battle?

I got to thinking about it... Some NPCs are strictly in only Cut-scenes: Lion from the Zilart storyline, Ulmia, Nag'molada, Louverance, Jabbos, etc... from the CoP storyline... But there are other NPCs that while don't have a physical location anywhere in game, they do participate in some of the battlefield fights. For example Tenzen, Prishe, Ajido-Marujido, the Mithran Sin Hunters, etc... Would these folks also be considered Cutscene NPCs since there's no physical location to speak with them? Or would their location pretty much be considered to be in the battlefield that they participate in? --Waluigi 06:51, 7 August 2006 (EDT)

Yes, I agree with you. There are also NPCs that only appear during the kingdom missions as well. --Pinkfae 07:08, 7 August 2006 (EDT)
I think they should go in Category:Characters. There is no need for this separate category. --Gahoo 07:51, 7 August 2006 (EDT)
That category is for characters that are not present in FFXI, meaning that there is no way you will see them in either cut scenes or present in any of the areas. The NPC category as it stands right now are for NPCs you find in areas. This category could be used to identify those that are present in game but only appear via watching a cut scene. --Pinkfae 09:29, 7 August 2006 (EDT)

Unimportant note, and probably stating the obvious for most of you, but the main reason for SE to show most of these NPCs only through cutscenes is because it allows them to 'kill' or otherwise remove the NPC from the story without conflict (if an NPC that dies in the latter San d'Oria rank mission stories can still be seen by Rank 10 San d'Orians walking around town, that would contradict with the story) - Hiachi 03:23, 4 September 2006 (EDT)
