And the change is made. To make sure no one references the old one, I deleted all the stuff in it and put up a redirect to here.

I find it amusing that FFXI considers bats to be birds.--Davian

In every bestiary I've checked, the entry for bats say they're weak to wind, yet, as a BLM75 and RDM73 I've always found them to be a lot weaker to Ice. --Fretion

  • I find a high resist to wind too, yet quite weak to stone & thunder, Ice not so much still weaker to ice then wind tho. Stone & Thunder are about 10% resist for me where as wind seems to be 90%+ (I haven't actually landed an unresisted wind yet)

Marrow Drain

<This has been moved from Talk:Marrow Drain, which has been deleted>

I've read that this is a TP moved used only by Colo-colo and Bats in CoP areas. If it is true, I'm not sure if Colo-colo had it and then it was expanded to CoP areas or if it was introduced with CoP and retroed onto Colo-colo. Maybe someone can confirm this. --zoogelio-forgot-his-password 22:21, 4 March 2006 (PST)

Many of the new TP attacks used by mobs in CoP areas were previously seen from BCNM mobs. For instance, the BCNM60 shadows use Fomor attacks, and the Condemnation move added to demons in Uleguerand Range was first seen in Dynamis. So I'd guess that Colo-colo had it first. --Valyana 07:44, 5 March 2006 (PST)

I've seen Colo-colo use this post CoP, since I do this BCNM all the time, and Marrow Drain makes my day less happy. :) --Chrisjander 07:57, 5 March 2006 (PST)

Rodent = Vermin?

Okay, I just had to fix this. In Vana'diel, the Vermin category contain insects. Rodents are mammals, which belong to the Beast category. A good example to this is the Rabbit family, which are Beasts. Though both aren't technically rodents, they're both mouse-like in appearance. Lchan 06:30, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

"Giant Bat" vs. "Bat" family

Why is this family called "Giant Bats"? When the NPC Ryo says Sanraku wants pictures of them, she says:

From my recent conversations with Master Sanraku, I would have to say his current infatuation is with birds, in particular those belonging to the bat family.

Where did the "Giant" part came from? --FFXI-Itazura 04:35, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Quite possibly to differentiate them from the "triple bat" family, by making it clear that not only is it a singular bat in this family, but that it is also larger than it's other counterparts. --Urth 05:07, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
