Job Ability
- Makes it possible for your next "physical" blue magic spell to be used in a skillchain. Effect varies with TP.
- Obtained: Blue Mage Level 40
- Recast Time: 2 minutes
- Duration: 30 seconds or one Blue Magic spell
- Does stack with both Sneak Attack and Trick Attack.
Notes
- Upon casting a physical Blue Magic spell while the Chain Affinity effect is active, the Chain Affinity effect is consumed as well as all of the user's TP. The TP will enhance a certain aspect of the physical spell, which can be seen under each spell's description (e.g. "Damage varies with TP"). These spell TP modifiers are only active when under the effect of Chain Affinity.
- Unlike Weapon Skills, a minimum of 100 TP is not required in order to use Chain Affinity; in fact, it can still be used even with zero TP.
- Doubles the WSC (stat modifiers) of the physical Blue Magic used. Often, this causes the spell to see a significant boost from its usual power, even if zero TP is consumed.
- Allows the physical Blue Magic used to participate in a skillchain, making solo skillchains possible without any additional aid. Because TP is consumed upon casting the physical Blue Magic spell, in order to perform a solo skillchain the Weapon Skill should be used first, followed by the spell. Chain Affinity may be readied first prior to using the WS.
