Job Traits
Attack Bonus
- Obtained: I (10), II (30), III (50), IV (70)
Notes: A very useful job trait; higher attack means that your damage multiplier (pDif) is higher, meaning each of your hits do significantly more.
Resist Paralyze
- Obtained: I (20), II (40), III (60)
Notes: Would be really handy if it actually worked once in a while. Very forgettable.
Arcana Killer
- Obtained: Level 25
Notes: Very limited in use. You do not exp on arcana very often, although in areas such as Ru'Aun Gardens, you will be facing arcana enemies frequently so this may come slightly in handy. It's still not amazing though.
Desperate Blows
- Obtained: Level 75 (merit)
Notes: This meritted job trait turns the puny Last Resort into a force to be reckoned with by adding a "faux haste" effect while Last Resort is active of 5% per merit. "Faux haste" basically means that it has the physical characteristics of haste (attacking faster without reducing TP/hit -- a contrast to -delay which attacks faster but DOES reduce TP/hit), but without affecting magic recasts. It also breaks out of the equip Haste cap of ~25% and the Magic Haste cap of 43.3%. What does this mean? In general use you won't see much of a difference unless you have a march (or two) on you and a Haste spell (in which case it's like a minizerg every 4:10-5 minutes), but when you can reach the haste cap due to this trait's 5-25%... it is a wonder to behold. This is the fundamental concept of 2handed DRK zerging, which I will cover later. On a final note, it works ONLY ON TWO HANDED WEAPONS.
NOTE: Since the latest update which has weakened 2handed zerging tremendously, this trait is less amazing than it once was. It is still worth meritting for the DoT increase in normal situations and if you still 2handed zerg, but it is no longer the essential trait of zerging.
Muted Soul
- Obtained: Level 75 (merit)
Notes: I used to quite like this. It reduces enmity strongly whilst Souleater is in effect, potentially allowing you to use it in merit situations occasionally and it can also keep you alive longer during zergs. However, due to recent patch changes, it is possible to invest more merits in each group 2 area, meaning this trait loses a lot of its value.
