Historical Background

Bangles are traditional ornaments worn by Indian women and Pakistani women, especially Hindus and are worn after marriage to signify matrimony. Bangles are circular in shape, and, unlike bracelets, are not flexible. The word is derived from Hindi bungri (glass).
