Delete: I uploaded a new image of this NPC in .PNG format which I beleive is preffered over .JPG. (I think .JPG is fine, but I think thats what I read somewhere).--NoOneLeftTalk 18:35, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Comment: No image format is "preferred". When judging images, we first look to its conformity to the image policy, then it's quality, then it's file size. With two visually similar images, we prefer the image with the smaller file size. The PNG format, unless you have a good handle on using a graphic editor for compression, tends to be significantly larger than JPG. This doesn't mean we don't want PNGs, but when we have an acceptable image (one that isn't flagged for replacement), we generally expect a large increase in quality to follow with the large increase in file size. --Chrisjander t/ c 19:04, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

In this case, when comparing the two images, the jpg image seems distorted, so we'd want to replace it. --Chrisjander t/ c 19:06, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Resolution: Keep. No significant increase in quality does not warrant replacement. --CharitwoTalk 02:51, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I am pleased to hear .JPG is proffered. I had read in another thread where a user was complaining of .JPG for being lossy and they didn't like the "imprecision" that the lost data created. I have no problem with .JPG myself. I will say this though, the PNG format being lossless doesn't present alot (or in my photo editing software, which is a bit ld, any) options that can be used to reduce file size.

All the same, I've converted my PNG image to JPG and replaced the image because as you mentioned, the old version looked a bit weird.--NoOneLeftTalk 04:26, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
