Food (Status Effect)
From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia
Description
A Food Effect is a status effect that alters a player's stats until it wears off or is removed. Benefiting characters can have a range of different effects, depending on the specific food consumed. All effects are summarized as one effect, and stack with like effects (i.e. A food effect that grants Str +3 will stack with a STR Up effect).
Coffee and tea drinks also grants a food effect. However, juice type drinks (including Yagudo Drink) induces a Refresh effect, while milk based drinks induces a Regen effect. Note that a player is restricted to at most one of each effect; cannot have Refresh effect from juice and the spell Refresh at the same time, nor Regen effect from milk drink and a White Magic Regen spell at the same time. This limitation applies to coffee and tea as well; once used, cannot use another food until the Food effect status wears off or is otherwise removed.
Food effect can stack with either a Regen (milk) or Refresh (juice), or both at the same time.
