Tips
- These saplings are strong against Elemental Magic, so SMN and BLM may not be the best choice in this battle.
- Medications needed: Poison Potions to stay awake, Reraise Earring to get back up again, and MP drinks for the mages so they can do what they have to do for as long as possible.
- These saplings are weak to blunt damage, so MNKs are your best option (/NIN for shadows).
Working Job Combinations
This section is not meant to discourage people from trying different combinations, but to illustrate combinations that have been tried and tested. Please feel free to try this BCNM with any combination you think might work, and above all, have fun!
Grove Guardian Strategy
The ideal setup includes 2x RDM/NIN, 1x WHM/BLM, 2x MNK/NIN and 1x MNK/WAR
Strategy:
- One RDM/NIN casts Bind on the big sapling, while the other casts Bind on the smaller sapling to the right.
- The RDM/NINs keep Bind and Gravity on their saplings, while the Damage Dealers Provoke the smaller left sapling and kill it further down the hall.
- When the first sapling is killed, the Damage Dealers should come and get the other small sapling, while the 2 RDMs keep the big sapling busy.
- After killing the second small sapling, the group may be short on HP and MP. Wiping with Reraise on might be the best option in this case.
- Wipe at the entrance and let the big sapling go back completely. Reraise and buff fully before killing the final sapling.
- If you can deal enough damage in a small amount of time, you may not have to wipe at all, the mages should also have enough MP to keep going until the end of the battle.
Strategy Cons:
- This can be a very hard BCNM, but this strategy can work every time if everyone follows instructions, uses their Poison Potions, Reraise Earring and knows how to play their job well.
Other Strategies
The Damage Dealers do not have to be MNK/NIN, replacing MNK with another damage dealing job should work in this strategy also.
