Historical BackgroundEdit

Jupiter, in Roman mythology, was the king of the gods, and heavily associated with the sky and thunder. This would explain why the HQ Thunder Staff is named in honor of him. In Greek mythology Jupiter is the equivalent of Zeus, and in 16th century England he was known as Jove. This is where the expression "By Jove!" or "By Jupiter!" originates.
