Historical Information

The kilij (from Turkish kılıç, "a sword") is a sword used by the Ottoman Empire and Turks. Estimated to have appeared around the 15th century, these blades were a distinct variation on the Turko-Mongol sabers that had been used in all the lands influenced by the Khan's empire.
