Note about the BCNM
This fight is actually in Talacca Cove. However, to get there the first time, you must follow the full steps for the previous mission, to get the key item Percipient Eye. Anyone who has completed the mission and is coming along to help just shows up at the Rock Slab. The Percipient Eye is what unlocks the battlefield, at that point anyone in the party can check the slab and select the arena.
In The Fight
- Buffs wear upon entry.
- Examine the Rock Slab, which is a targetable wall inside cave, not a "???". 6 members can enter the BCNM which has a 30 minute time limit. As this is a Mission-Fight you do not lose any experience points if you die here.
- Gessho has approximately 13,000 HP.
- Uses standard Ninjutsu spells, ranged attacks, and Mijin Gakure.
- Gessho says the phrase "Feel the fire of my conviction!" or "I devote my spirit to your destruction..." right before using Mijin Gakure; this may be your only chance to Stun it. He can use Mijin Gakure more than once in a battle.
- Fairly evasive, ~65% hit rate without Sushi or Madrigal.
- Some of his TP moves are renamed Yagudo special attacks. All of his TP moves are as follows:
- Hane Fubuki - Feather Storm; ranged attack and Poison
- Happobarai - Sweep; AoE damage and Stun, blockable by shadows
- Hiden Sokyaku - Double Kick; knockback and Stun
- Rinpyotosha - Howl; Warcry effect
- Shiko no Mitate - Parry; Defense Boost on self
- Shibaraku - 500-1500 AoE damage and knockback, blockable by shadows
- Periodically teleports around the arena.
- Usually uses one of his TP abilities upon reappearing.
- Seems to teleport due to a shift in hate.
- Spawns 3-6 weak clones of himself, trigger condition unknown, each clone has around 2,000 HP. He can do this more than once, and it's possible (but unlikely) that he won't do it at all.
- Clones don't hit hard, they can be kited by a mage with Stoneskin easily (Phalanx recommended).
- The clones use Mijin Gakure in conjunction with the NM himself, leading to heavy damage. They will go out of their way to try and run back to Gessho when he readies Mijin Gakure, to try and Mijin Gakure the target(s) Gessho is about to Mijin Gakure.
- The clones will also use TP attacks and/or Ninjutsu in conjunction with Gessho, regardless of their TP.
- Clones de-spawn after 10-20 seconds. They share their initial target with Gessho but hate is not linked. Clones won't always all de-spawn at the same time; the kiter needs to be sure all clones are gone before rushing back into the main fight. On some occasions a single clone will stay and battle the party for up to 30-35 seconds.
- NM and clones are immune to Sleep (Even with Elemental Seal and Lullaby).
- Susceptible to Paralyze, Slow, and Blind. Becomes more resistant to Bind and Gravity as the fight progresses.
- He gives up around 10-15% health. (Not at 15%)
- (see testimonials)
