Historical Background

Said to be an "extremely rare species of slime" in the game, this Slime is based off of the Metal Slime, a very famous enemy from the Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior) series from Enix. Slimes were among the weakest enemies in the game, being smiling onion-shaped drops of goo. Metal Slime in Dragon Quest I had low HP, but able to cast magic and having extraordinarily high defense, not to mention a habit of running from battle. Its reward was it dropped a huge quantity of EXP (the most of any monster in the game). It has appeared subsequently in Dragon Quest III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII (and Dragon Quest II in a slightly derived form, Metal Babble, which also appeared in DQV, DQVI, DQVII too). It has always had high defense and dropped a lot of EXP. It was found on the world map near Hauksness.
