Completed this quest toady as 49 brd/whm. I won on my 4th attempt. Set my NPC as Stalwart Shield. Keeping Army's Paeon IV and Ballad up at all times, I opened the fight with Elegy, Requiem, and Dia, then Put up Protectra and Shellra. Engaged and stood behind my NPC assisting him with cures and casting silence on Vassago whenever I noticed him casting. When my MP got to less than 50 I would disengage and rest till I was over 100mp.

It was a close fight, my NPC was down to less then 5% hp at the end.

The fight took around 9 minutes.
