Ranger: Mirror Image as ranger is pretty straight foward: ranged attack, ranged attack, ranged attack. Any questions? The bow and the gun is not recommended due to the high damage output they can put out in several attacks. A crossbow with Holy Bolts is what I recommend. Here is what I used:

Main Sub Head Neck Body Legs Hands Feet Back Waist Earrings Rings Ranged Ammo
Archer's Knife Archer's Knife Noct Beret +1 Holy Phial Noct Doublet +1 Noct Brais +1 Noct Gloves +1 Noct Gaiters +1 Nomad's Mantle Royal Knight's Belt Drone Earring x2 Saintly Ring x2 Thug's Zamburak Holy Bolt

(Format taken from Beastmaster Equipment Guide)

Note* recommended to have the NPC take the Stelwart Shield style The +MND gear is mainly to increase Holy Bolt's damage. Use any crossbow you seem fit really, I only used the Thug's Zamburak for the +2 ranged accuracy. Have ninja subbed for the extra Archer's Knife for extra accuracy and Utsusemi. Don't use Barrage right at the very beginning, use it at about halfway and finish it off with eagle eye shot.

Easy solo RNG/WAR with Soothing Healer NPC. Didn't even bother to change from my level 75 gear. Opened with barrage, and then switched to Bloody Bolts for the rest of the fight. NPC and I shared hate after a few Cure IV's. HP never dropped before 350. Ate a Blighted Gloom or two and then stood behind NPC to let her eat the rest. Fight only took 4 minutes. Never had to two hour.
