Real World Reference

Moldavite is a form of tektite, a glass like rock believed to be produced by the intense heat and pressure of meteor impacts. It was named for the town Moldauthein in the Czech Republic, and was originally thought to be a type of obsidian, but it's chemical make up sets it aside from other volcanic rocks.
