Historical Background

In Norse mythology, Motsognir was the father of the Dvergr (Dwarves). He was made by Odin, Vili, and Ve out of Ymir’s bones and blood. Like all Dwarves, he resides in the realm of Nidavellir. Motsognir means “battle-roarer”.
