Statistics Opacus Cell An imbued item obtained in the Ruins of Alzadaal. Blocks the imparing psychowaves that prevent the use of abilities. Stackable: Not Stackable	Other Uses Resale Price: Cannot be sold to NPCs. Salvage: Allows the use of Job Abilities. If this item is in your inventory before entering another Salvage, you will be denied entry. You must remove this item before being allowed into Salvage again. Used to spawn Socket Notorious Monsters.

Historical Background

All imbued cells used in Salvage are named after various cloud formations.

Opacus is Latin for “opaque” and refers to a variety of clouds.

Stratus opacus

These are stratus clouds (large, blanket clouds) that form a thick, opaque cloud layer through which sunlight cannot penetrate.

Altostratus opacus

These are altostratus clouds (gray-toned blanket clouds that span hundreds of miles) that form a thick, opaque cloud layer, resembling a blanket of altostratus clouds higher up. These clouds are found between 6000- 20,000 feet. These clouds tend to form ahead of light-rain systems. This link has images of such clouds [1]

Altocumulus opacus

These are altocumulus clouds (small cottony clouds found high up, typically with a small gray portion) that form a thick, opaque cloud layer, resembling a blanket of cumulus-like clouds. These clouds are found between 6500- 20,000 feet. They are formed by convection in an unstable layer of air. This link has images of such clouds [2]

Nimbostratus opacus

These are nimbostratus clouds (dark, rain-bearing stratus clouds) that form a thick, opaque cloud layer through which sunlight cannot penetrate.

Stratocumulus opacus

These are stratocumulus clouds (low, unevenly shaped clouds) that form a thick, opaque cloud layer, resembling a blanket of stratocumulus clouds. These clouds are found 6000 feet or under. These clouds rarely produce precipitation. They form where there are rising air currents in the sky.
