PlayOnline is the program and website developed by Square Enix to manage the two online games Final Fantasy XI and TetraMaster. PlayOnline spreads across all platforms that Final Fantasy XI can be played on such as PCs, PlayStation 2, and Xbox360. PlayOnline has several other features such as the ability to create chatrooms, manage your friends list, contact your friends, etc. Originally, the website was a companion guide to the BradyGames official guidebook for Final Fantasy IX.
PlayOnline also supports a few other services that are only available in the japanese client, including Jongholow and a multiplayer component to Dirge of Cerberus, as well as other services that have since sadly ended, including Front Mission Online.
