Job Ability

  • Allows you to counterattack but reduces movement speed.
  • Obtained: Warrior Level 60
  • Recast Time: 3:00
  • Duration: 3:00
  • Distance: Self

Notes/Description

  • Will only activate if a hit is taken, using Utsusemi: Ichi, Utsusemi: Ni or Blink will negate the effects of Retaliation.
  • Currently unknown what, if anything, can alter the activation rate.
  • Like Counter, you can retaliate against any attack directed at your front arc, even from mobs with which you are not engaged, so long as your weapon is drawn.
  • Unlike Counter, you will still take damage with Retaliation.
  • You do get TP from retaliating, & you also get TP from the hit you take.
  • You can gain weapon skill ups from Retaliation attacks.
  • Appears to have similar movement decrease as one Dusk item (e.g. Dusk Gloves).
  • You can perform a critical hit on a retaliation, even though it will not show a critical hit animation (tested with Mighty Strikes).
  • Additional effects such as HP drain from Drain Samba do not occur on a Retaliated hit.
  • Will only generate 1 attack per hit taken. Double Attack & Triple Attack will not occur on a retaliation attack.
  • Technically, retaliation has a 100% Hit Rate Accuracy, with the exception of when a Mob has Perfect Dodge up, in which it will miss.
  • Will not retaliate Weapon Skill or Ranged Attack.
  • Can simultaneously retaliate multiple attacks directed from Double Attack, Dual Wield, Hand-to-Hand, or Triple Attack at the same round of attack, generating multiple retaliated attacks within 1 attack round.

Macro Syntax

  • /ja "Retaliation" <me>
