Notes:
- Spawns at the start of Dynamis. He is located at the cliff base near the Night Flowers (F-8).
- His Maelstrom and Whirlwind attacks are very powerful. Kiting and manaburning is one recommended strategy for less skilled shells in order to avoid a wipe. Zerging is very effective - have all WHM and RDM mages spam cures on DDs. Feint and Angon are very effective. Stun order highly recommended.
- Uses an enhanced Cross Attack that has 3 hits, instead of 2.
- Can be pulled from above using Steal or Mug. Target the NM and stand directly above where he sits in order to do so. Will link any statues on his way up.
- Defeating him will reduce Antaeus' Auto-Regen.
Historical Background
In Greek mythology, Scolopendra (more properly spelled Skolopendra) was a gigantic sea monster depicted as having rows of webbed feet along its flanks, a flat, crayfish-styled tail, and hairy nostrils. It was considered the largest type of sea monster (Ketos). Given the reports of nostrils, something only found with oxygen-breathing creatures, this may be a very crude early report of some kind of whale. Its name means "millipede" in Greek.
