Shikar is a word in Persian and Hindi which refers to hunting. Thus, a Shikar Bow is a hunting bow. Shikari is also a word in the English language derived from Hindi which refers to a big game hunter or a native guide for big game hunters. Shikaree is an alternate spelling for Shikari.
