Walkthrough

• Talk to Cid in Metalworks who will give you the Gun of Trials and the Weapon Training Guide (key item).
• Cannot be done concurrently with Empyreal Arrow quest.
• Use the Gun of Trials until the latent effect disappears.

• How to remove the latent effect:

• You must perform Weapon Skills and Skillchains on monsters that con Easy Prey or higher.
• You receive 1 point for opening/soloing a weaponskill, 2 points for closing a Lv.1 Skillchain, 3 points for closing a Lv.2 Skillchain and 5 points for closing a level 3 skillchain.
• You must accumulate 300 total points. Thus you'll need:
  • 300 weapon skills solo;
  • 150 Lv.1 Skillchain closed;
  • 100x Lv.2 Skillchain closed;
  • OR 60 Lv.3 Skillchain closed.
• To check to see if the latent effect has disappeared, simply unequip and re-equip the Gun of Trials and if you do not get the bonus stats, you are done.
• To check without unequipping, note your Elemental Resistance, they will be gone if the latent is broken.

• Once you no longer receive the latent effect bonus, head back to Metalworks and trade the Gun of Trials back to Cid, who will take the weapon from you and give you a Map to the Annals of Truth (key item) and tell you to head to Boyahda Tree.
• Once in Boyahda Tree go to Map 3 (J-8) and click the ??? to spawn the NM named Beet Leafhopper.
• Once the NM is dead, re-examine the ??? to obtain the Annals of Truth (key item).
• Bring this back to Cid for your reward.
• NOTE: You cannot unlock this quest if you already have another Weapon Skill quest active.
• You will not get points towards unlocking your weapon by participating in Campaign Battles.
