Square Enix (commonly abbreviated as SE) is a video game company best known for its role-playing games, one series which is known as "Final Fantasy".
The name came about because two companies "Square Co." Ltd and "Enix" merged on April 1, 2003. Enix officially took over Square and thus the name Square Enix.
