Welcome to Kazham!

Welcome to Kazham! A quaint village in the Elshimo Lowlands region inhabited primarily by Mithra and Opo-opo. Kazham is mainly a residential town, with a limited quantity of merchants. While a Residential Area does not exist, you can make a visit to the local Nomad Moogle to change jobs, access your Mog Safe and collect from your Delivery Box.

To get to Kazham, you need to have a Airship Pass for Kazham. To obtain this, do the Kazham Airship Pass Quest or pay a fee to obtain it.

Maps

The following maps are for the readily accessible areas of the village of Kazham, and the surrounding areas of Yuhtunga Jungle and Yhoator Jungle. To view an enlarged map, simply click on a picture. To view information about the area, click on the link located directly below the map.

The Elshimo regions are full of Mandragoras, Goblins, Lizards and Sahagins. Please not that goblins detect by sight, and the sahagins by sound. You need not worry about aggroing a lizard or a mandragora.

Adventuring

Leveling

You will find yourself outside the gates of Kazham and into the jungles of Yuhtunga. When you first arrive at Yuhtunga Jungle you will find yourself pitting your skills against Mandragora. These small creatures are not to be underestimated. Once you have spent some time defeating Mandragora you may find yourself fighting the local Goblin Smithys or perhaps venturing deeper into the jungles and taking on Goblin Ambushers. If you happen to enjoy the scenery and monsters in the Elshimo regions, you can move to Yhoator Jungle around 28 and 29 and kill mandragora and goblins there until about 34. Either way, you will not be spending much of your leveling career here, as most parties depart at around 30 to train in Eastern Altepa Desert or around 32 and visit the Garlaige Citadel.

Helpful party tips

Mandragoras may be cute, they are anything but. They are known for inflicting poison with Leaf Dagger and putting your party in a deep sleep with Dream Flower. It is recommended that your typical backline mages; (White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage and Summoner) keep a safe distance from the rest of the party, as to avoid being put to sleep. Doing this will ensure that you will have at least one person who can use Cure to awaken their slept party members.
Goblin Smithys are a force not to be reckoned with right away. You should advance a couple levels before you start fighting them. Their melee damage far exceeds that of the Mandragora and their Bomb Toss can get ugly real quick. Before the start of each battle, you should cast Barfira to help resist the damage done by Bomb Toss. This will help tremendously in your curing duties and help keep your members alive. If by chance you have a Blue Mage in your party, it is a good idea to keep Head Butt ready, so you can quickly use it to stun the Goblin when he is preparing Bomb Toss.
Goblin Ambushers can be fought near the outpost @ G-11 on your map. This spot is ideal for one party, but is also manageable with two. These are much better targets than the Smithy counterparts, as they are not as strong. Ambushers prefer using their ranged weapon, so it is good practice to have your puller run beyond your camp location so that he or she can plant the monster at your party's location. Barfira and Head Butt will again be used on these monsters. It is imperative that you keep Barfira up on your party members at all times; you never know when a Bomb Toss will occur and how deadly it may be.
