• Drop rate is statistically high, being around 50% with and without Treasure Hunter.
• Killed around 15-20 of these with no drop using TH2. (Citation needed : RARE item. Was one in possession during farming?)
• Confirmed to be also obtainable from Sprites in areas surrounding Jeuno (S).
• Throwing this item at Dark Ixion is the only way to engage it in battle.
• Cannot be sent via Delivery Box.

Historical Background

Stygian means related to Styx, a river in ancient Greek mythology that the souls of the dead were ferried across into Hades. The "ash" signifies that this river could be a burning one. It is probably no coincidence that you have to throw this at a monster named after Ixion, who supposedly resides in Tartarus, the deepest reaches of Hades, to get it to engage you.
