Historical Background

Taisai (大祭) means "great festival" in Japanese and is used to refer to festivals in general. It is unclear though, how this relates to the Hecteyes monster form.

Actually, from the Japanese title obtained from the nm "さよなら太歳", I am pretty sure "Taisai" should be "太歳" in Kanji. "太歳" is the from Chinese astrology. It's an imaginary star that's under the horizon, and moves opposite to Jupiter. It's sometimes believed to be a protective deity, but more often, the bringer of bad fortune.
