What's Contagion Transfer? --Gahoo 17:02, 20 October 2006 (EDT)
Enchantment
I believe Contagion Transfer means that when you use it, it has the chance to dispel a buff from the mob and actually transfer it's buff to you. I think I mightve read it on allakhazam but I'm not sure. I'm not at the level where I can test it, but if someone has it and can test it that'd b cool :P.
Usually "contagion" means disease. So I'd think that it either refers to debuffs that are on yourself, or diseases on yourself (plague, disease). So basically, if you get a horrible disease, you pop this enchantment, and give it to the mob instead. --Chrisjander 09:45, 24 October 2006 (EDT)
Yes, but also consider the name of the shield. "Absorbing" doesn't lead me to believe that you're giving the mob a debuff. --Dragonspight 17:39, 17 November 2006 (EST)
If you look at the KSNM this comes from (Moa Constrictors), the Cockatrices you fight have this ability. If I'm not mistaken, it swaps up to 8 your statuses and the cockatrice's statuses (buffs or debuffs). So basically, if you had Food, Protect, Shell, Barstonra, Barpetra, Haste, Utsusemi, and INT Down and the Cockatrice had Slow, Paralyze, Blind, and Dia on, and it used the move, you'd now have Slow, Paralyze, Blind, and Dia, and the cockatrice would have your Food, Protect, Shell, Barstonra, Barpetra, Haste, Utsusemi, and INT Down. I could be mistaken, as I haven't done this KSNM myself, but I've read that this is how it works. I'm not sure if this enchantment is quite as powerful as that, but it's food for thought. --Kyrial 17:32, 29 December 2006 (EST)
I'm doing quick tests with it, i'm hoping it will transfer food to a foe. So far I managed to get slow from a mob I enfeebled beforehand. I'll let you know when cooldown on it ends.--Myrna 12:08, 25 January 2007 (EST) Disappointed a bit, it actually seems to steal a debuff from the foe, nothing else. Nuts.--Myrna 13:23, 25 January 2007 (EST)
- Hmm, have you tried stealing positive effects from the monster? Like using it on a monster with protect to see if you steal its protect. Petco 07:38, 28 July 2007 (CDT)
- You must mean buff, not debuff, because why would anyone use an enchantment that harms them? Tahngarthortalk-contribs 23:59, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- To remove Dia/Bio/Poison from a mob so that it can be slept?--IneptOne 16:28, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
