Potency & Resist

Is it just me, or is the Flash from this spell not very potent? Mobs almost never miss me when I cast this on them, even with 299 blue magic skill. I also get it completely resisted a lot, whereas with Flash on my WHM, it only gets completely resisted by mobs that are totally immune (like Prime Avatars). It just kinda sucks that the 2 spells we use for Auto Refresh (this and Plasma Charge, which only lasts for like 30-45 seconds and isn't any more potent than normal Shock Spikes) are almost pointless to cast. Admittedly, this one is better than Plasma Charge, but I've still never yet had it be useful (except maybe for getting quick hate on multiple aggroing mobs). The "Effect Duration" on this page must be copied and pasted from Flash, because I've certainly never seen it last as long as Flash. --Kyrial 15:24, 8 August 2007 (CDT)

Hmmm, I don't really have any trouble getting it to stick. I macro in magic acc and MND gear (more magic acc than MND, since I'm not sure it even affects it. lol). I also have capped evasion. It's not exactly something to count on in most cases for getting ichi up, but if you stack it with spiral spin, sandspray, and/or filamented hold/sprout smack when solo, you should see much better results. As for resisting, I'd recommend finishing your blue magic skill merits and maybe investing in magic accuracy merits... Though you shouldn't have that much of a problem with it, really. Actinic Burst is super handy for me. I only ever have issue sticking it on high level NM's and such, never had issues with any regular mobs just casting it in my tp gear. A quick swap to macc gear will generally stick it on those high level NM's too. However, those high level NM's are also the only things that will usually hit me with it on too, other than that, I use it for getting ichi back up all the time :o --Blazza 14:21, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
