I'm on my third run through Alchemy, and while I like this guide a lot, the Mercury part is a little flawed. Where I understand getting out of Mercury range as quickly as possible, I've never had 6-7 stacks of Mercury by skill 14. Even if I capped out the recipe at 16, I wouldn't have 6 or 7 stacks. Usually, I have 4 or so.
On a positive side of that, though, Mercury is very cheap on my server now. It's 5-5.5k, which seems pricey until you look at the price of lightning crystals and Cobalts, which are normally a total of 4-5k to buy everything, even if you buy from vendors. So if you don't mind spending an extra 500g, you can just buy enough mercury after getting to 14 to round out the guide. --Baroness 22:19, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

All I have to say about these levels is MONEY! Had a lv74 Alchemist friend in LS make me 6 stacks of animal glue for about 10k for materials. The bronze I bought in sandy for 1.5k a stack, and the potions I bought in Jeuno for 6k a stack. Altogether I used 3 stacks of each to cap at 31, ending up with 180 bolt heads. Heres where the money comes in, I had woodworking at 20 so I turned the bolt heads into Blind Bolts. Quivered them for storage, and sold them in stacks of 99 for 3000gil each. Netted in about 150k minus about 30k total in materials. Oh yea, got 3 levels in smithing too doing this synth =P I rocky 00:26, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
