Talk:Base Damage

From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

I believe both MND and INT play a role in spell damage resistance. My understanding is that MND increases the chance that a spell will be resisted, while INT decreases damage incurred before resistance is taken into account. This might be observed by comparing the results of Burn (INT down) and Shock (MND down). I'm not sure how this works with holy spells; perhaps MND replaces INT in all parts of the formula.

Page change? some point to clarify

Rangers; before the July 2005 changes, were the best example of the influance of this damage.
A ranger's base damage was calculated by adding the bow's base damage with the arrow used,
this combined base damage was very high and led to almost 'unnaturally' high damage per shot.

No, Ranged Attack base damage calculation was not changed on July 2005 patch. what was changed really is how level correction function implemented in their ranged attack / monster defense function.

Please look at my user talk page, it seems there'll be many inconsistency if I update this base damage page from the actual damage calculation
