No Time Limit

From everything I read on these quests I was under the impression that you had until the end of the game day that you started it on to finish it. This isn't true. I started (talked to Peddlestox and was shown the ???) this quest months ago and just finished it today.

Searching for the ??? proved to be a waste of time as it was never up. I went to the spot marked on the map and zoomed way in to get as close to the position as possible, then I waited until 23:00. Between 23:00 and 24:00 the ??? appeared right in front of me and I was able to use a pickaxe to extract the chest. (Additional [info at AK] lead me to do this.)

Ok, after much frustration I finally found a strategy that works. I also confirm that time has nothing to do with this quest but distance from the target does. After arriving at the point and waiting forever to see it show up it never did. So I left the area and came back next real life day on lightning day and waited and the point still didn't show up. So I decided to try tabbing around as I walked around the area. Eventually my target hit a ??? for a second then disappeared. So then I approached closer to where I last saw it and was able to target it and use a pick axe on it. Zoning does not end this quest as I had to zone because I forgot my pick axe in my mog. Also time has nothing to do with it either as I ended up opening the chest on Lights day. --Valient 19:41, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
