Both sentences mean Black Mage is a damage dealer with their spells. So, removed the second one.

"adding even more destructive power to a party's repertoire"

That sounds a little too mysterious; made it more straightforward and spelled out exactly what MB does: better accuracy and power to spells. --Itazura 01:00, 27 May 2006 (PDT)

I think it'd also help to mention that a Pro for Elvaan is back-up Healing, as it has the highest MND.
