Talk:Bludgeon

From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

I've noticed that when I use this spell the monster gains a HUGE amount of TP if I hit for 100 the monster seems to gain an equal amount of TP. Would it be possible for someone to confirm the TP a monster gains when using this spell? I doubt this spell would be welcome in fights that take a long time if what I've seen is correct, however would be great for building monster TP when trying to learn a spell if used on a DC-T I doubt an EP could survive long enough to use the TP move if this was used on them ^^ --Perim 17:16, 28 April 2006 (PDT)

This is a triple attack, so the monster gains 3 times the TP as a normal hit. Much like with Fast Blade (a double hit) or Penta Thrust (a quintuple hit), each landed blow gives the enemy TP. I'd suggest finding a way to get Subtle Blow if you want to reduce that :) --Chrisjander 18:02, 28 April 2006 (PDT)

As silly as it sounds to ask, can this not be learned from 6 to ace cardians? Tahngarthor 20:58, 5 May 2007 (CDT)

As with any spell, it can be learned from any mob that uses it (aside from BLU mobs casting it :P). The lists on each page are not comprehensive lists of every mob it can be learned from; they are just examples. --Kyrie 01:11, September 14, 2009 (UTC)

Blu spells are concidered magic and there for should give 10Tp, in case of Bludgeon that 10Tp per hit... it might be alot but itll also go down alot faster. i read this in the wiki but i cant find the source of it, ill keep looking. --Ophenix 17:31, 29 July 2007 (CDT)

Hand-to-Hand

i wanna know what does "Hand-to-hand based Dmg" mean? does it mean if i increase my h2h the dmg will go up or does it mean monsters that are weak to blunt will gain more Dmg? --Ophenix 17:17, 29 July 2007 (CDT)

Check the Damage Types page. There are two types of blunt damage: Impact blunt (aka "normal" blunt), and Hand-to-Hand blunt. Certain mobs take different amounts of damage from the two different types of blunt attacks (for example, Magic Pots take 1.25x normal damage from h2h blunt, and 1.50x normal damage from Impact blunt). --Kyrie 01:11, September 14, 2009 (UTC)
