??? Problem
It is said to:
- You must check one of the Gates of Halvung located at (J-7) or (H-8) for a description of the lock before you can obtain this key item. (Re-zoning requires a recheck of the Gates)
- The proper ??? in question will give the message "There is a detached part here..." if the gates have not been checked.
I did exactly what was needed. I checked the "Gate of Halvung" at (J-7), then found the ??? at K/L-8, without de-zoning out of Mount Zhayolm, and I did not recieve the key item Cast Metal Plate. The dialogue that resulted from targeting and hitting "Enter" on the ??? wa "There is a detached part here..." So I went back to the gates to double check if I missed anything, and received the same common message for BOTH gates: "There is a large keyhole here. It seems to be a very simple mechanism." I targeted the "Gate of Halvung" at both J-7 and H-8, targeting all over the place elsewhere to find anythign else I might have missed, targeted and examined from both sides, and I recieved the same message above. Then, I returned back to the ??? and recieved the same message earlier: "There is a detached part here..."
This is very frustrating especially if the travel was a waste of time. I am sure someone out there knows about the proceedures to obtain the key item, because it is certainly not the method provided in the description of the Cast Metal Plate.

Solution: You've found the wrong ???; you need to find a different one. The info on the page was changed to be incorrect, on 2007-10-09, but I have now put it back to the correct information I added almost a year ago:
- The ??? in question does not ever give the message "There is a detached part here...". That ???, found on a round manhole cover in (L-8), is reportedly for the Puppetmaster AF3 Quest.
