Defeated by RDM/RDM/BLM/THF. RDMs Chainspell nuked, while BLM cast AM2 spells. Freeze 2 generally did in excess of 2000dmg (~15%).
- For a small group, Epoxy Spread was the killer. After Binding the Party, it would just sit on a player at a time, inflicting Poison and using more TP moves until the player died.
- An alliance of BLMs with RDM and WHM support (for Poisona and Gravity) and two melees capable of doing a Distortion skillchain can easily kill Claret in under a minute. The melees skillchain immediately after the pop, and the BLMs and RDMs Magic Burst off the skillchain. Nukes will consistently do double damage off the magic burst.
Soloable by a BST. Mountain Clots are immune to the poison so they only take damage from TP moves. I brought a stack of zeta biscuits - but I only needed one 2hour'd clot to completely kill it. Go /whm or /dnc to get rid of any poison from popping and for sneak to avoid agro from other clots. Sic when you can (you should charm the clot right by the the ??? so you can sic without having to working about Fluid Spread hitting another clot). While soloing earlier today I noticed Claret went into a fluid spread rage @3% - not sure if this had anything to do with it being at a low percent or just horrible luck but I had to recharm another clot to finish it off. - I have trouble believing the above story. I went as BST/NIN and did as said above with a Familiared clot pet and it got decimated, even when spamming Sic and Zeta Biscuits. --Mitsukai-Hawke 15:08, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- I did this before they put up rage timer's on ZNMs. I assume it is impossible to solo now, but before it took about a half hour (I think it rages around 20 now). Multiple BSTs or people with /BST make this fight incredibly easy. Also going /nin really doesn't help at all in this fight.
Very easy duo by 2 BST/WHM
