Talk:Crow Jupon Set

From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

Is this set good for bst? If so, how does it work exactly? Do you lose the hate once you equip it, do you have to have it on the whole time? Thanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Roux (talkcontribs).

As explained on the Enmity page, equipment with + or - Enmity affects how much enmity you 'accumulate' for a particular action. In this case, wearing this full set of armor will cause you to generate only 72% as much enmity as you used to, which means, as a Beastmaster, your pet would be building more enmity by comparison.

Hate is not 'shed' by equipping gear with -Enmity, so you would have to be wearing it at the time you want to produce less enmity. A good situation, for example, is if you want an enemy off you and onto your pet; in which case, the +Evasion and the -Enmity would be double duty. Or you can just wear it full time while meleeing along your pet, confidant that unless you get a lucky Rampage, your pet will probably be tanking for you. --Taeria Saethori 02:13, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Is this armor set useful at all for thieves? Wouldn't it essentially make Trick Attack useless? ~~Capra

In most party situations, a Thief is both unlikely to get hit (thus rendering the Evasion impotent) and tends to use Trick Attack, especially post-60 (rendering the -Enmity hazardous). However, if the Thief is soloing and wants to stack on extra Evasion, many of these pieces have pretty high evasion for their slot. --Taeria Saethori 08:14, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
I thought so, I just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the input ^^ ~~Capra
