Talk:Dark Grip
From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia
- It says Dark "Elemental" Magic Accuracy; does this mean that dark magic isn't affected? Has anyone tested this? Tactikz 13:49, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- By the description it only works on "Elemental Magic" but is there any dark elemental magic? Sleep is enfeebling, aspir/drain is dark ... it's such a small amount of +macc its very hard to test if its just a translation error on SE's part (they've done that many times over). --Bekisa 00:54, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Only one would be Noctohelix. --Melios 00:56, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

After about 4-5 hours of playing with imps in Caedarva Mire on Rdm, I can vouch for noticing a small difference trying to Sleep and Dispel Imps, also given that Light Grip affects Lullaby which is Light based, it's safe to assume Dark would function the same way on dark element based magic. ~Bhinasha 05:32, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
The trick is thinking of it as "Dark Elemental" magic, rather than Dark "Elemental Magic".
Therefore, it affects all magic that is of the Dark Element, ranging from the obvious Drain and Aspir to the less apparent Sleep, Light Threnody, or Soporific.
The Darkness page has a list of spells for an easy idea of what this enhances. --Taeria 05:50, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
