Talk:Desperate Flourish
From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia
Desperate Flourish has low ACC at the mid levels but seems to have good ACC at later levels. This ability DOES stack with /THF Sneak Attack for a guaranteed hit. Hate generation is minimal, about the equivalent to applying a small debuff. Gravity effect is equally potent to the spell, but does it reduce enemy EVA?
It would have to be proven in Ballista, but if this inflicts the exact same Weighed Down effect that Gravity does (thus not being able to stack with each other) then the Evasion Down additional effect is implied. It's hard to gauge with a dancer however since they already have an Evasion Down ability before they get Desperate Flourish and likely have used the Step to generate the Finishers to use the Flourish, but I'd say it's safe to assume that it does add the evasion down effect. --Seraphimhunter 20:46, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Evasion is definitely lowered by Desperate Flourish. I tested on an Even Match Silver Quadav at level 32 in Rolanberry Fields. The mob originally checked as a straight Even Match, no message for evasion or defense. After using its defense-up TP move, it was high defense, with no message for evasion. One level of Quickstep was not enough to make it check low evasion, but adding Desperate Flourish on top of that brought it to low evasion. (Screenshot) --Ellipses 15:02, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
