Talk:Dissector

From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

What is the dps of Dissector with the latent active? I suspect that is a bit more important when making a final decision as to whether or not to wield this weapon. --Volkai 12:33, 9 February 2007 (EST)

In BLU's Case

I hear this suggested as "classic endgame weapon" for BLU, but apart from the 6% increase in CH rate, there's absolutely nothing special about this sword. Perdu Hanger, the kilijs, Shiva's Shotel, Hofud, and even Ifrit's Blade are all way better. Someone care to enlighten me? --Azulmagia 04:04, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

This was a great choice for BLU at one point. Before, the adaman kilijs, Perdu Hanger, Hofud, Fragarach... none of these existed yet, so the most common combo for BLU/NIN was Dissector/Ifrit's Blade. Nowadays, there are a lot better choices. As for Shiva's Shotel... I've never liked the look of that. The DMG is nice and high, sure... but the delay is absolutely horrid. I suppose *maybe* it would be okay if you weren't subbing NIN, but I'd never use it either way, honestly. --Kyrie 04:11, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Shiva's Shotel is used for the significant +8 ACC that no other sword matches. Since the bulk of BLU's damage comes from spells, generally weapons with higher damage despite higher delay are favoured. This makes Shiva's Shotel an excellent choice. --Azulmagia 05:01, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Um you mean BLU spells are based on weapon ACCURACY right? So base dmg won't affect it.... --Reepicheep 23:13, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Who are you talking to, and what? --Azulmagia 18:19, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

personally, i just love the way this sword looks... no other sword in game has its graphics, and ill rock it whenever i can without some elitist doosh telling me it sux... guess what.. im aware... but it looks freagin cool.--Guwhenivar

Personally, I hate the way Macuahuitl and Gluttony Sword look. I'll never use them on PLD whenever I can without some elitist "doosh" telling me my Princely Sword sucks. Azulmagia T/CSite 03:24, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
