Talk:Drain Samba II

From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

This is more than twice the potency. My cap with samba I is 7, with samba II is 17. Going to test numbers over the next couple days.

What is your weapon delay? Its possible that twice the potency still applies, in a sense. Perhaps the math goes from floor(Delay*3/100) to floor(Delay*6/100)? --Pigface 17:21, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Was just thinking about my post and it dawns on me that even with a delay of 266, the drain amount before the floor() would still be 15.96, which is a bit short of 17. Need a bit of sample data to see whats going on. --Pigface 17:36, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

The floor for samba II seems to be a good bit higher than Samba I, I'll need to double check my minimum numbers against IT mobs.
Okay My results so far, 300+ swings each.
Delay Min Max
150----6---12 (hornetneedle)
222----8---17 (Joyeouse + 1% haste)
240----9---19 (Martial Anelace)

Looks like the math breaks out as something close to floor(mDelay*8/100).

  • 150*8/100 = floor(12.00) = 12
  • 222*8/100 = floor(17.76) = 17
  • 240*8/100 = floor(19.2) = 19

Hope that helps --Pigface 18:06, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Your numbers still hold true. 170 Delay = 13 max drain.

Friend of mine was using Byakko's Axe, and that's 504*8/100 = floor(40.32) = 40. He drained 40 several times but never above that. --Valle 22:19, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Simplifying things...

Wouldn't it be more simple to put it as Delay * .08 ? --NadulPandy 06:53, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

fractions look a bit cleaner. but really, it's the same thing. --Nattack 09:44, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
