Talk:Enchantment (Status Effect)

From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia

This status effect may answer the question about which Enchantment items are cancelled by removing the equipment, and which aren't. Things like a Reraise Earring or an Empress Band stay with you if you take the equip off, and those give a Reraise effect and Dedication effect (as appropriate). Perhaps if the enchantment gives this effect (see icon to know if its actually a separate "Enchantment (Status Effect)") then it goes away if you remove the equip. I first noticed the new icon when leveling PLD as my taru, and I got the Breath Mantle to help out my HP (and the +Enmity doesn't hurt either). I didn't want to risk wasting a charge by removing the mantle (not that the defense is terrible thou), so I couldn't (and with this particular item, won't) test this out. Anyone have an item similar to the Breath Mantle that they're willing to test out? --Chrisjander 21:04, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

Sure. Give me a second to by one of those... opposite of breath mantles x.x; lol. I'll need it for my taru blm >_>; --Dragonspight 06:10, 2 November 2006 (EST)

Yes, it wears off. I just purchased a talisman cape, used it, and had 233/245 mp with the enchantment status effect. I took the cape off and the status effect went with it. After putting the cape back on, neither the status effect nor the mp returned.--Dragonspight 06:19, 2 November 2006 (EST)

-- The enchantment status affect also wears off if you zone. This is why I always recommend bringing two high/breath mantles just in case your party decides to move around a bit. Bhujerba 16:13, 29 June 2007 (CDT)
