Talk:Eye of the Tiger

- As MNK/WAR with capped merits and ACC+34 in gear I was only hitting 60% ACC. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ikonic (talk • contribs).
Drop rates
More runs are needed before anything definite can be really said about the drop rates but it seem that the catgories are pretty simple:
Equipment(one or two items, usually two)
Scrolls(sometimes one)
Crafting(one to four items, one to two of each)
Example runs:
Run #1
Spiked Finger Gauntlets
Ram skin
Coeurl meat
Mana circlet
Black tiger fang(2)
Run #2
Mana circlet
Black tiger fang(2)
Storm gorget
Raise II
Nue fang
Run #3
Rival ribbon(2)
Ram skin
Coeurl meat
Black tiger fang(2)
Will make an edit for grouping when more runs are done to make certain, perhaps even add drop% ranges. --Gatttsu 18:07, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
INSTAKILL!
After going 0/9 on camping Nue, I decided to try this BCNM and see if we would have better luck. I checked the strategy page to see what we were up against. As the page said, we had a PLD/WAR and a RDM/BLM - the final member was a MNK/WAR.
Nothing the stragegy page said could have prepared us for how badly we just got owned. It was like fighting John Rambo trapped in a tiger's body. And it isn't like we just sucked. All of us are experienced players, the PLD with high defence gear and the MNK with optimal damage dealer equipment.
Anyway, after buffing up and eating our food, the fight began with the PLD provoking, the MNK using Chi Blast and the RDM enfeebling the tiger. Everything seemed to be going well, Chi Blast did noticible damage, enfeebles stuck and the tiger was mauling the PLD. Then we all noticed: we're either missing every time (with Gravity and Frost on the tiger and with accuracy food, gear and abilites) or hitting it for about 5-6 damage and sometimes even 0. We carried on fighting. I think we were lucky if we took the tiger down to 90% health before the RDM died, the PLD died then the MNK was killed while trying to escape.
I'm not saying this is going to happen to everyone, or that everyone will get the same results as us - but I thought I'd share the story as I would have liked a warning like this one before trying the BCNM. Fawkes. 03:26, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
