While duoing this quest, after the Forger battle in Konschtat Highlands, I had the character that spawned the Forger lot for her Bomb Steel. Only one dropped, so I had to have my other character then trade her Oriental Steel to the ??? -- but instead of spawning Forger, she got a message reading "There is a blackened spot on the ground...". After breaking party with the first character, I had the other character try again, and the Forger was spawned. (Incidentally, the first character that got her steel disconnected, and that is why the party was disbanded.)

Probably had to wait a couple of minutes before spawning another. A lot of pop NMs work like that. --◄Chrisjander► t/ c 22:18, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
