Just about one of the most useless spells for WHM to have. I've rarely found a time when I felt the need to use Holy or wanted to use it. It works better for PLD than WHM. --Tataru 02:42, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Holy and Afflatus Solace

The release of the April 2009 Version Update will see a boost to this spell via the new White Mage exclusive Job Ability: Afflatus Solace.

With Afflatus Solace activated, a running total will be calculated based on the current level of the White Mage and how much HP he/she has cured. Casting Holy during Afflatus Solace will take the calculated total and convert that into a potency boost for the spell; the total then resetting. At present, the potency boost is currently unknown, but testing done after the April 2009 Version Update may see a rise in the worth of casting this spell. --Nahara 19:56, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

I was hitting puddings in Nyzul for easily over 900 damage after tossing a few Cures. I would say Solace gives a pretty significant boost. Grm88 18:29, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Bear in mind that puddings have a natural weakness of about 25% to potency to all forms of magic damage so you'd need to have a reference point as to how much damage you did with Holy without using Solace to find an accurate comparison. Using the average numbers provided compared to a normal monster you'd be doing 720 damage instead of 900.
